History

Bahco roots can be traced back to the late 1800s. The company began by manufacturing innovative tools, such as the pipe wrench and adjustable wrench, during the industrial revolution in Sweden. Over the past century, it has grown to be one of the largest tool manufacturers in the world. Owned by SNA Europe, Bahco tools can be found around the world today.

Products

Bahco manufactures a wide range of tools. Today, the brand makes over 7,000 products. These include hand tools, automotive tools, refrigeration tools, wood working tools, power tools and more. With so many applications, everyone likely already has one of their tools.

Among the different types of tools they make, the company manufactures a number of power tools. These include torque screw drivers and saws. Not only is there a wide array of Bahco tools, but each type of tool they make has many models. For instance, the different saw blades manufactured are a good example of the variety of models within a specific tool. They offer a full line of saw blades for power tools. There is a blade for any power saw.

Quality

Many companies quote their history as evidence for continued quality, but few companies have the long and established history of Bahco. The company has survived for 125 years because they produce quality tools, including power tools and others.

In recent years, the quality of Bahco products has been recognized by several agencies. Among the awards they has been granted are the Swedish Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Gold Award and the Japanese Good Design Award. In addition to recognizing the quality of their tools, many of these awards were given in honor of the unique design. Specifically, their ErgoTM designs are among the most innovative in the industry.

Innovation

Bahco began by making two tools that are standards today: the pipe wrench and the adjustable wrench. However, in the late 1800s these were new innovations. Since then, they have continued to be a leader in tool manufacturing and design. To this day, they continue to innovate and improve tools.

ErgoTM is the company most recent innovation. This ergonomic design has been applied to many tools; it can be found on both hand tools and power tools. Some people may shrug at the significance of an ergonomic tool. However, after a full day of work, the ergonomic design of a power tool is sure to be appreciated. Designed and engineered to ease the stress placed on the body, these tools allow mechanics, carpenters and others to work longer.

Fish and Hook

Bahco is famous for their logo of a fish and hook. When the company was founded, a new grade of steel had recently been created. This new steel was stronger than pervious metals. Among the many new applications for this high quality metal were fish hooks. Saw blades were also made of the same high quality steel. A logo of a fish and hook was placed on the saw blades that were made with this steel.

That logo of a fish and hook is still on all Bahco products today. People looking for professionally grade power tools know to look for that logo. It is a mark of continued quality and innovation.
